About 19 years ago, someone donated some hardly used medical equipment to our founder, Bill Brayer, in the hope that he could find someone else who might need it. Before long, Bill assembled some volunteers and MSHH became a 501 (C)3 non-profit. The idea was to accept used equipment, refurbish it and make it available to others at a greatly reduced price.

Today, as in the beginning, we are all volunteers. We give our time freely to help others and it is, as you may guess, very fulfilling service. The suggested minimum donations we receive pay our expenses. Whatever is left over is used to assist persons living in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and are in a short-term financial bind. That was the disease that Bill has lived with for the better part of his life.

Along the way we sometimes help out people with other ailments too.

Over the years we moved from Bill’s garage to a storage facility to our present location beneath the
IGA grocery store in downtown Edmonds. Our store is called the MSHH Donor Closet and you will find
packed  with things that can make a person feel like living again.

Most of what we offer is refurbished. But since we often don’t get enough of certain things, we offer some new equipment too.

All of what we have is offered at a substantially lower cost than what you might pay elsewhere. Now that is a promise this week, and the next week and the week after that too.

If you are fortunate enough to have really great insurance you may not need our service. But, if you are like so many people you owe it to yourself to come see for yourself. Who knows, you may be one of the lucky ones that live without pain or illness. Or, you may be more like the rest of us who have already had, or will face, some sort of disability.

We are unique organization run entirely by volunteers. Whatever you are looking for in the way of Medical or Mobility equipment we probably have it at a very reasonable cost. And if we don't have it at one store, we can probably get it from the other store. Come see for yourself!

And, if you are interested in becoming involved in a most worthwhile service in the community please give us a call. We could use drivers with good driving records to make deliveries and pick-ups, people to clean equipment and those who can greet people and assist them in our Edmonds, Tacoma and Spokane stores.
